In 2020, I got married to my husband in Ghana and because he didn’t have his Canadian documents, I decided to stay back with him in Ghana after I got my Canadian citizenship. I quit my job, packed my bags, and moved to Ghana. Ghana was good but the economy was not profitable for my husband’s business. So, we decided to relocate to Canada, but I didn’t want to return to Canada without having a job. I was trusting God for a career breakthrough. 

I returned to Canada early 2022 with the aim of looking for a job. All my efforts were to no avail. I had interviews every week but it was not getting me anywhere and I was still paying bills. So after I put in hubby’s application for permanent residence, I went back to Ghana in September 2022. I stopped applying for jobs but still trusting God for a breakthrough. 

First week of December 2022, I attended a prayer retreat with a fellowship. During the retreat, I wasn’t really focused because of my baby - I was mostly doing mummy things. On the last day of the retreat, I remembered how God gave me a great testimony and I decided to key into the service at all cost. I was worshipping and dancing like never before and just loving on my God. During the service, someone shared a testimony on how God gave them a career breakthrough and they had the upper hand in negotiating their salary for the job. I decided to key into that testimony and took the only money I brought to the camp, about Ghc 10, which is now less than $1, and sowed it as a seed offering believing God for the same testimony. 

Remember I had stopped applying for jobs when I returned to Ghana. After the camp, I got an email for a job interview. I accepted the invitation and during the interview, I told them I was in Ghana so they asked me only 4 questions because they said it was too late in Ghana. After the interview, I didn’t hear anything from them until December 23, 2022. Human resource (HR) called and said I got the job, and offered me the salary. The salary wasn’t what I told God when I sowed my seed so I went back to them asking for the amount I wanted. HR told me she would go back to the manager but I didn’t hear back and it was the last work day for the organization as they will be closed for the holidays. I started to get anxious but I remembered that prayer and testimony from the prayer retreat so well that I believed if I didn’t get that salary then the job wasn’t mine. 

I got a call from HR and she told me she spoke to the manager and the manager agreed to the amount. My goodness! I screamed - 'This God Is Faithful!' That’s how I started 2023 with a brand new job and my expected salary as I desired of the Lord.
